Maryland fans need to embrace the B1G.
It's their home going forward. The ACC doesn't want them back, and the SEC doesn't want them. The Big XII would be a mess like it is for WVU regarding geography. So B1G it is.
Maryland's Athletic Department is built to excel in the sports that the ACC excels in (soccer, lacrosse, basketball). The B1G is built to excel in wrestling, volleyball, ice hockey, etc. So Maryland is cleaning up on conference championships in soccer, lacrosse, and women's basketball. They will probably get some men's basketball as well. Maryland is winning more in these sports in the B1G than they did in the ACC.
Whatever the ACC does next will be driven by what helps get better distribution of our ACCN. Adding a member in Ohio may become attractive for the ACCN. I don't really want to see us expand into the midwest, but there may be financial incentive to do so. I kind of like staying more coastal. And I think WVU is who we should add. West Virginia isn't really midwestern, and it isn't really southern or eastern. I don't know if it has a classification.
